About Alexis Dahl®
telling science and history stories set in Michigan.
An important note (2/3/25): Buy Me a Coffee now has a recurring donation feature (the "make this monthly" box"). While you're of course welcome to support these videos every month through Buy Me a Coffee, I'd recommend signing up for monthly support at Patreon.com/AlexisDahl instead. On Patreon, monthly supporters get thank-yous like behind-the-scenes content, early access to videos, and more! That said, this is still the best place for one-time or infrequent support. Alright, end important note!

If you've reached this page, there's a very good chance you've seen some of my work, but if not: Hi! I'm Alexis Dahl. I'm a full-time science communicator telling science and history stories set in the beautiful state of Michigan. 🌊 You can find most of my work on YouTube.
(Why is there a trademark in my name above? Because Alexis Dahl is me, the person — hello! — but Alexis Dahl® is the name of the series, and the U.S. patent office likes me to remind people that the series name is trademarked.)
Why does this page exist?
While sponsorships help cover some production costs for this series, they don't cover everything. The reality is, the value of the research, writing, travel, animations, subscriptions, and more, is just higher than the typical advertiser has the budget for. So, an important way these videos get made has always been through viewer support.
I never expect people to chip in (so the fact that you're considering it at all is deeply appreciated!), but if you're interested, your support helps me make more of these videos. They cover the types of expenses mentioned above, plus all the other odds and ends that come with making high-quality, free, well-researched educational content.
So, thank you for considering this. It makes a big difference in what I'm able to accomplish, and is also an incredible form of encouragement.
Are you interested in supporting these videos long term? You can learn more about that at Patreon.com/AlexisDahl.
PS: This website is called "Buy Me a Coffee," but it doesn't literally buy me coffees. Unless I'm on a multi-day field shoot away from home, in which case... the caffeine is an important production partner.
