These are the challenges we continue to face. Stripe shut down our payment account because we talk about our past work experience in the legal California Cannabis Industry. During our time working in the industry we were repeatedly censored. By social media and legacy news outlets. This isn't new.
But I was surprised to receive the email letting me know they would no longer be offering service to us through our website. My question is, will our "Buy me a coffee" page be censored too? The link on our website that connects to stripe comes from our buy me a coffee widget.
Does this mean Buy me a coffee is breaking up with Twenty Two Alchemy?
I hope not. I like this site and the setup. In fact, we doubled down on the Buy me a coffee network. A few days ago we claimed the alchemy.bio.link which is their latest product. We like to think of this as our digital calling card.
If we get booted from this platform that's okay. I hope that isn't what is happening, but regardless. It's been fun and it will continue to be.
