My name is Perry Simpson, author. My passion is writing short story and in the first lockdown in Ireland, April 2020, I set out to write 30 short stories in 30 days. It was my way of coping with my own stress and anxiety at the time.
The stories were based on randomly chosen words, provided by friends, family and people on social media. It was a truly rewarding and uplifting experience. My new book, Lemondemic, will be available on the anniversary.
When the Irish Government announced lockdown 2 one day after my birthday, I had made up my mind to plan a new challenge: Write 365 short stories in 2021. This is an idea that I have joked about with friends for several years. Each story is a 5-minute read. Mixed genre. A story for everyone. The perfect accompaniment for your favourite coffee, or maybe, a quick read before bed.
The successful completion of this challenge will create 12 new short story books. To date, writing fiction has been a self-funded hobby - Project Lemon Zest. I love the process of creating stories and I want to be able to continue to share my work.
By buying me coffee will be help with the publication costs of the 12 books. So, please join and support me on this insane challenge by buying me a coffee.
