Eating Habits: The relation with food

Beyond what we eat, today I want to talk about how much we eat. If you have noticed, analogies for me are special tools that help us better understand our own lives. That is why I am always looking for ways to understand each other better using analogies.

In terms of food, personally, since I was little I have always eaten until I feel satisfied, I can count on one hand the times that I have felt full or I have felt that I ate too much. For me it was always a theme of "why am I going to eat more than I need?" (If I go very deep, that same question is almost the basis of who I am, except with knowledge, there I always want more).

Over the years and the knowledge I have acquired, I have understood more deeply the root of my way of seeing it, that way of mine without anyone teaching it to me. It was a "knowledge" with which I was born, without knowing why but that defined me beyond one thing.

It is important to begin with: everything we see, hear, feel, live, think, do, share, conserve, breathe, swallow, everything; in one way or another it nourishes or denuishes us. Everything is "food" for our physical, emotional, mental and / or energetic body.

The "food" accompanied by the action of "feeding", supposes to nourish our organism in all its levels. So watching over the way we eat is part of the magic of the feeding process (not just when we talk about food).

Physically the stomach processes food with its juices, from order to disorder with a movement of contraction and expansion, as the heart beats and as the muscles and other organs work, beyond, it is also how our emotions and energy flow. If we fill our stomach to a maximum, we limit the ability to move, making this organ grow in search of more capacity to process food. Are you seeing the analogy here?

Life as it is, makes us feel hungry. Television, advertisements and programs, social networks, community sharing spaces, social expectations and others are characterized by using patterns that generate an automatic reaction in the human brain.

More times than we realize, the hunger we feel is beyond a physiological one that between colors, sounds, body language, and other details that to our conscious goes unnoticed; they activate the "hunger" response in humans.

This causes that many of our traumas, perception of lack, anger, depression, anguish, loneliness and many other emotions that we feel, are chemically and emotionally related to hunger, causing us to eat more or less, unconsciously seeking to "satisfy" our subconscious. But this is constant, technology has created spaces and necessary devices that are constantly bombarding us with information and activating that hunger reaction in us.

We want to eat the world, literally. Whether in food, social status, expressing our emotions, or whatever.

Sciences / Philosophies such as Ayurveda say that it is healthier to feed ourselves by filling our stomach 75% (max.); contrary to 100% as we have been doing not only with our stomach but also from the very expectation of satisfying our needs to 100% above the rest, only to realize that like our stomach, our wants and needs continue to increase. It may seem unrelated at first glance, but when we look at it further, they are intrinsically connected (like everything else).

By learning to manage our hunger on a physical level, we subconsciously take the tools to deal with the constant media and social attack on our human nature and thus learning to contrast its negative effects on us.

This also brings positive changes in our health and in the emotional and energetic states. The stomach is not overloaded, our energetic center also known as Manipura Chakra, where our internal fire / "will" is located, has space to act in favor of our well-being. We are no longer victims of our will, we work as a "team" for our benefit.

We must remember that the sum of all our parts is what makes us "us". Our creativity, mood, emotions, energy, control and body movement, abilities, thoughts, our cells, inmune system, all are us and are affected some way or another when our stomach is full to maximum capacity.

We have learned for generations that "hunger" is synonymous with lack, poverty and limitations, and this seems to be the case when our mind only thinks of hunger itself, but if we see "hunger" as a necessity, then feeling hunger is a reason for Life, an engine, an ideal, a motivation, generates creativity and encourages the search for solutions, increases will, resilience, emotional strength, opens us to love, compassion, and union. It takes us to the same "Source".

So, don't stop eating, don't overeat, satisfy your needs and leave some for others.
