Today, I had my third LA agent panel. I did my Kate Beckett scene from the Castle pilot and NAILED it. *fist pump* Like the previous two panels, I was to "say a little bit about yourself" after my scene. Which I maintain is one of the cruelest things you can ask of someone, but this time I think I nailed that, too.
I simplified things by making a bullet-point list of recent events/projects/experiences I'm proud of while I was waiting for my turn. I didn't even try to memorize it because I think reading from the list shows I'm an actor who comes prepared.
So this is the list as I wrote it.
graduating w/ honors from Towson University w/ my BFA in Acting
helping found then serving as managing director for the Green Globe Theatre Co in Baltimore
in the same year, 2019, I was diagnosed for a brain tumor, received radiation for said tumor (I'm all good), starred as Viola in Twelfth Night, bought a house, and first TV speaking role
during the pandemic I started a personal campaign to play Black Cat for Marvel & I've stuck with it
last month, my best friend and I launched our podcast, Tabula Rasa, B!tches!: A Buffy Rewatch Show
After my time, I went back to the main room to thank my reader, and she excitedly told me she loves Buffy and would be looking up my show.
Now, off to nurse my headache. Or edit my podcast. Or maybe I'll shower first? Shower, nap, ice, work? Work, shower, ice, movie? Wash face, then crash for the rest of the day?
I'll figure it out.
