Hey all! Been a while, I know. Things have been a little crazy. Last week the boyfriend and I drove to South Dakota to visit his family. Yes, drove. Twenty hours straight through. It was a lovely trip, a good break, but I definitely feel the pressure to get back to work, to be productive.
Coming up I have another LIVE Murder Mystery show tomorrow with OTHER PEOPLE! So that's exciting. It's with some other vets of the Baltimore Troupe so it should be pretty fun and easy. Still mostly doing Zoom shows, though. Just can't beat the convenience of performing from home.
No film projects or shoots on the books currently. That's always stressful. It's amazing how quickly I revert back to "Omg I'm not doing enough!" mode. Anxiety, amiright?
I was incorrect like I thought I might be, in thinking I had enough vouchers to apply for SAG-AFTRA. That's fine. It's not like I had the 3k to pay the new member fees anyway. But I do have one, so I'm 1/3 there.
In a little over a week, I have my pinup shoot with Atomic Cheesecake. I'm starting to get really nervous. For oh-so-many reasons. Me? A sexy photoshoot? Pretty much an oxymoron. I'm doing it as Black Cat to send to Marvel/Sony with my regular headshot and resume. And maybe I'll make postcards and spam other people I deem potentially helpful? I dunno. I'm viewing it as a spec commercial for myself as Black Cat. But do I have all the necessary pieces? Will they look ok? Can I even pose sexy? What if they come out horrible and I dropped all that money on pictures I'm unhappy with? And the photographer prefers people not to bring friends with them. So I'm alone with a stranger tryna be sexy. I'm sure I'll feel differently once I'm all made up and in front of the camera, but still. Nerve-wracking.
Other than that, things are fine. Back to things as usual with Podcast Pontifications back and running. So lots of applying to Backstage casting calls and production assistant-ing. Looking forward to the end of August when the Maryland Rennaissance Festival opens and I get to go back to selling sexy leather clothing. I can't wait!
