“Silvia, where are mother and father?” Athena asked whilst she was out for a walk with Silvia to get some fresh air.
“They are all inside waiting for, as you know…” Silvia hesitates to say that such news is too dreary to talk about. “They’ll be leaving again, since they are needed in the south to help with the drought. Especially the ongoing war there…”
…Eventually, I became closer with my family and the servants of the estate. They all started sharing information with me thinking that I might have lost my memory or something. But, I only acted as if I lost them since I needed help with gathering information.
What I found out from the servants is that my father and brother were sent to take command in the south. The war isn’t over yet, but since there are people living there and trying to survive. My mother requested as well
Amazingly, this world may be behind when it comes to technology and all, but they have something which my world didn’t have. Well, we had it, but they were mainly illusions. What they have is magic.

It seems Athena, I mean, I am the first person in history to be born from a pure bloodline to have not a single ounce of magic.
Which is why, the crown prince’s mother despises me so much.
Anyways, back to the reason why my mother was requested. You see, my mother is said to be one of the most powerful Elementalist in the empire. Well, from what I heard, she is the only gifted Elementalist out there. Most people can’t do half the sh*t she can.
Amazingly, the more I read about magic and all, I found myself intrigued by it. And as to why, Athena, me, has not a single magic at all.
I mean, even back in our world. In movies, the main lead will somehow along the way learn how to use magic. But, Athena, my word… Years pass and she can’t even make light appear. Which is said to be the most basic magic out there…
As they headed back inside the mansion, Athena was still in deep thought about everything.
“My Lord, my Lady, the Young Lady wishes to see you.” One of the servants announced the girl’s arrival.
As they opened the door for her, she slowly walked inside and greeted her parents. She felt upset to think that they’ll be leaving her so soon. For, it was the first time she felt someone showed so much love towards her despite the fact she wasn’t their real daughter.
Athena walked closer to her mother as she wrapped her arms around hers, “Mother, must you really go?”
Lady Adolphus was a true goddess indeed in the girl’s eyes. She has this long, golden brown hair, which falls all the way to her legs. Her emerald eyes were a perfect combination with her hair and fair white skin.
“I’m sorry Athena, but there are thousands of people who need my help right now.” She explained as she comforted her daughter whom she too does not want to leave behind.
Athena did not say a word and looked at his serious father who was seated in his chair whilst drinking his tea.
Lord Adolphus was the opposite of his wife. He was terrifying and cold, he always had this expressionless expression on his face. His aura was just so strong that it felt like winter all the time.
“Come…”
The girl let go of her mother’s embrace and walked slowly towards his father, as she approached him tears came running down her face. He may not be his father, but he has been a father that she had always wanted. Despite being cold, he was gentle towards her and showed her so much love.
It startled the man to see such sorrow in his daughter’s face, “I-“
“Papa!” Athena cried as she collapsed in his father’s arms.
She may not be the real daughter, but she felt like he was her father. All the emotions she was expressing were real, not a single word nor action was fake.
Everyone in the room was dumbfounded, never in their life have they seen Athena cried nor show any sign of affection towards her parents. They always thought she was an aloof child who dares not show any affection towards anyone nor show her emotion in the open. Which is why they have presumed her to be such a lonely child. But to think, she was only bottling all those feelings till now…
“Please, Papa…”
It’s been a great deal of surprise to everyone since her awakening. Since she was not aware how the previous owner lived her life, a lot has noticed the change in her character. Now, she was more lively and enegetic. She would request for walks and even offer her help. despite their worry that sooner or later she might collapse from exhaustion.
Even the stern lord has become softer towards his daughter.
“My Lord, the Young Lord has arrived.” The old head butler announced.
As the young man stepped inside the room, he was taken aback to see most of the servants were in tears. When he saw the reason for everyone’s tears, he smiled with a heavy heart. For he too felt the pain of leaving his younger sister alone again.
When Athena saw her brother stepping inside the room, she got up and ran towards him, “Brother, please don’t go.”
“Now stop crying already, you’ll end up sick if you keep crying.” Noah tried his best to keep his tears away and comfort his little sister.
“But, the thought of you all leaving me will make me sick…”
“Ah,” He realizes what she said made sense, but what can he do when they have a duty to protect the people. As he continues to comfort his young sister, he remembers something which he hopes can cheer her up. “Now don’t cry, I have a gift for you…”
As Athena ease herself down, a soldier walked inside the room carrying a large box with him. She looked at her brother and inquired, “Is this for me.”
Noah nodded his head as he presented the gift to her.
Athena slowly removed the ribbon and opened the lid, when she saw what was inside, tears started rolling down her face again.
Inside was a white puppy with bright sky blue eyes, its fur was as soft as cotton. The fact she has always wanted a dog since she was a child, and to think she would be getting one now made her even more emotional.
As she slowly lifts the puppy out of the box, it startled everyone.
“Noah!”
But before anyone could say a single word, they couldn’t say a thing when they noticed how lovely the girl was expressing her affection towards the puppy. However, everyone was not at ease to see the puppy at all. In the girl’s eyes, they may look like a puppy, but that is not a puppy at all.
What she was holding was a Twilight Wolf.
A Twilight wolf is indeed a good company. The head of House Adolphus and his son owns one as well as some of their knights. They are powerful creatures which are an amazing companion when hunting. But they have a bad nature to attack even their own master if that person is not stronger than the creature.
“Are you pleased?” Noah asked as he petted the puppy as well.
“Yes.”
“Then what shall it be called?”
“I shall name you Fuji,”
“Fuji?”
…I’m sure everyone is wondering why I named it Fuji, but back in my world. I once traveled to Japan and saw Mount Fuji. If you are lucky enough, you’ll see the mountain not covered in fog. Since the peak of the mountain is covered in snow and sometimes instead of a green mountain, Mount Fuji is blue.
“My Lord?” The old butler looked worriedly.
Athena held her tears as she placed the puppy back inside the box, she then gave everyone a proper greeting as she held her tears and pain, “I’ll pray for your safe return, Father, Mother and Big Brother.”
