Who am I?

Who am I?

I'm a sister, a mother, a daughter, a friend, a neighbour and a survivor.

I lived in an abusive and toxic marriage for over 23 yrs, and finally made it out of there when the police arrived.

For the first time.

In 23 years.

Because that's how well we had to hide things.

That's how scared everyone was of this man who commanded and demanded respect. We all had a million chances to reach out, ask for help, share with someone. Yet we didn't.

We were too scared.

A large part of my work today is to show people how you can't 'just leave'. Abusers are extremely tactical and clever. They know exactly how to trap someone, keep them trapped and convince them that there is no other option other than to stay.

Another personal mission of mine is to highlight 'red flags'. What they are. What they mean. The warnings they have. And why you need to know them and recognise them.

So this is what I do. Through Twitter, through my book on Amazon, through my poetry and through speaking to people.

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy day to be here and read this.

I really do appreciate your support and hope to provide more for you in the future.

*10 percent of all donations to myself go to Abuse Talk - an amazing support system for survivors of abuse.

Peace and Love -

Anna💜
