Gothic wedding dress (Isolation Comission)

Dec 14, 2020

Post gradution, I found myself unable to celebrate or meet up with anyone, As Covid sht the world down. Since I Had endless time, I worked endlessly on this commission for a dear friend of mine, who wanted a gothic wedding dress. Her color choices were Black, red, purple. I decided to create a multi piece suite, complete with dress, train, veil (that was a Menagerie of Madness flower crown that I added to) shoulder pieces, witches rosary, and earrings. The train is a multi colored holographic fabric with multi hand burned, hand sewn flowers with their own unique hand bead work incorporated into each one. The bodice of the main gown is made of up cycled elements, including a lace rode I had worn while working overseas in Australia and New Zealand. This gown was made without patter, completely freeformed slow stitch for the bodice and the train. Inspired by Raw Rags design.
