The whirlwind has started

Jul 20, 2021

Things are trying really hard to "get back to normal" around Memphis. Shows have started back up, trolley night is back, and classes are filling up.

I'm starting to put together my kits for my enameling students at MCAS, I'm trying to bulk buy silver for the classes I have scheduled through the end of the year (I hate watching the metals market) and i'm working on some ideas for some pieces for shows this fall. I suck at making work if it's not a sample for a class, or an obsessive suite of coordinating fossil pieces. Lol to be fair, I now know this is because my brain is stimulated by learning something new (which I often do when writing new class handouts) or being inspired by something specific.

My orthoceras set still has about 10 pieces I sketched that I haven't created, but I've been working in designs for the next series- petrified wood, bronze cast fossils, and sterling silver. (Bronze cast ammonite and modern wood cabochon below)
