I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power.
For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel---not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.
✅✅✅ Who do you think wrote those words above? They came from no less than Paul, the apostle.
I too have this notion about Paul being learned and polished in speech. This great man of God who commands people with his fiery speeches and orations.
For he considers himself a pharisee of pharisees. Having been taught by the greatest professor in his time - Gamaliel.
But, as seen in his writing above... A different Paul can be observed!
He did not depend on his wisdom and intellect. He did not depend on his prowess to debate and prove others false... He depended on God to prove his words are true.
The reason simply, for our faith not to depend of human wisdom but on God's power.
Many can make great speeches and fiery sermons but few can produce proof of the power of God.
This is the time and season when we badly need Paul! Not the orator, wise and great preacher. We need the kind of Paul, who is weak, in fear and trembling but producing the proof of a miracle working God!
We badly need one, or two or three!🙏🙏🙏
