Book Recommendations

I just wanted to mention three books I'm currently enjoying or recently enjoyed:

  • Finding Me by Viola Davis - Great memoir recommended to me by fellow NaNoWriMo participant Jennifer Terry. Fair warning - it did make me cry and trigger warning for sexual assault, domestic violence and neglect.

  • Move: How the New Science of Body Movement Can Set Your Mind Free by Caroline Williams - this has motivated me to move more for my brain health and mental health. She explains the research in a way that's easy for non-scientists to understand.

  • Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear - this book is helping me get more organized. Some of you know but in addition to teaching yoga I have a full-time day job and I'm learning to code to become a software engineer. I need to stay organized and build better habits to keep moving forward.

Final note - I noticed during the last two NaNoWriMo sessions a person using my name in zoom. I don't know if they happen to have the exact same name (Breanna Bang), if it's a weird glitch or why they are using that name. Just know I change my zoom name to say "Coach Breanna" and will never chat you directly on zoom during NaNaNoWriMo (or otherwise) soliciting for money or anything weird. I'm hoping it's just a sibling or friend playing a prank but I'm not sure.

If you happen to be that person, and Breanna Bang is not your real name, please choose a different name for zoom. If it is your real name - that's cool. I've never met someone with the exact same name before.

Thanks for reading! Wishing you a happy Autumn and hoping to see you soon,

Coach Breanna and Baby Bear
