Mandarin Ratsnake is considered a common snake in China for food, wine and traditional medicine. Since China is very strict and protective of their wildlife, consumers order snakes from Vietnam to satisfy their cravings. Surprisingly, there is no subspecies for this one - Euprepiophis mandarinus despite having a rather widespread distribution into Taiwan as well. The picture alone is enough to say it is one of the most beautiful snakes in the world!
