A quick throwback to the thunderstorm over Umhlanga a couple of weeks ago.
I posted a composite image of all the lightning strikes I managed to capture that night, but this particular image of this particular strike really stood out for me.
I'm always awe "struck" by how massive lightning bolts actually are.
The average diameter of a lightning bolt is about a 1.3 to 2.5 centimeters wide, but can be up to around 12.7 centimeters wide. The average length of a lightning bolt from a cloud to the ground 4.8 to 6.4 kilometers long.
Look at the size of this particular strike compared to the @the_pearls_mall.
It's just incredible and I find it spectacularly beautiful.
I'm hoping we get some more beautiful storms for me to capture soon, and we always need some good rain.
