I grew up between two countries and lived in five (seven, if you count studying abroad as a student), so I know what it’s like to translate thoughts between different cultures and languages.
It's probably why I fell in love with plain language.
Plain language helps us communicate better because it focuses on the reader. It makes us, the writers, ask: what do my readers want or need to know? What kind of wording would they understand best?
Now as a "global" language, English comes with so much power. And so I believe that we need to wield that power for greater inclusion and accessibility.
