Figurative art, also known as Figurativism or representational art, is an artistic genre that consists of the natural representation of the environment through recognizable images. Contrary to abstract art, it seeks the representation of identifiable images, the concept of figurative art is related with the "imitation of nature" always trying to achieve artistic realism through different styles, either through distortion, idealization, impressionism, or exaggerating some characteristic features as achieved in the cartoon, or through other different styles as the symbolism, detail, archaism, schematism, among others.

The works of figurative art are represented the external appearance of the model, you can work in different ways, for example, the artist can work with the model in front, observing its details as he is doing the work, or have it in his memory, this example It is also observed in landscape paintings where painters perform all the work in the place where their model is that is the landscape itself (Plein air), another case occurs when the painter works part of the work in front of the model and then finish it at your workplace (called "natural record") which is the method that the vast majority of painters and sculptors use. You can also have the model in the workshop, whether it is a person or objects. Art schools hire models to pose and be portrayed under academic criteria, with a full objective of study, a genre called precisely "Academy".

This has undoubtedly been the painting that I have worked more in detail, I spent 3 whole nights working tirelessly, and when I woke up I slept only a couple of hours before fulfilling my daily obligations, and wait for the night again to return to painting, this is a very typical process, early mornings are usually the best time to paint for many factors, usually everything is quieter, there are no interruptions, and beyond that we always become more sensitive at that time, maybe for the loneliness, the fact of being awake when everyone is asleep makes us feel as if we were wandering alone in the world, and that is a pure, inspiring feeling maybe...

Perhaps the most complicated part of this job was finding the perfect shade for the skin, this is what I was working on most of the time, I still do not understand why, but the next night whenever I checked the paint, the color of the skin had become more opaque, so I had to paint endless layers until the color remained, in addition, there is a mixture of gray, red, orange, yellow, black, blue and green on the entire surface, and it was very tedious to get the subtle balance to not lose the realism.
