It’s often said the trends in financial markets are determined by the sentiment of those buyers and sellers involved. Added news and the overall state of nations; a myriad of factors determine stock prices. Of course the actual quality/success of businesses listed and their internal mechanisms are integral. Political climate across the globe affecting the value of precious metals can be significant. The now burgeoning market for crypto currencies more often than not fluctuates at 10x speed, often influenced by FUD and FOMO as a mass of investor noobs skip the fundamental step of due diligence pour new money into this very seductive space. Even still other variables remain.
The markets trend upward and downward. Sideways with indecision. Support and resistance vary. At times, tumbling dead cats have been known to bounce to new heights or crash and break through hopeful support lines imagined, like that invisible bridge Indiana Jones had to cross (to steal artifacts). Faith is the belief in things unseen or unproven.
Then climax. The correction of an inflated ego occurs. Red light. Green light. 1, 2 & 3. Reset. Only to repeat again.
Metaphors for life live in the charts. We all have our take on the past, present and future. Speculating we communicate artistically by scribbling lines on digital windows to share opinion. Some participants are minimalist by nature while others find a way to incorporate use of nearly every tool in the TA box. Fabricating master works that they themselves can only decipher. Perhaps each line and burst of pixeled color is a reflection of individual artists systems of belief, personality or their subconscious inner workings revealed. Is one bullish, bearish or perhaps a little of both? In life, when there is literal blood in the streets; how weak is your hand?
The deeper I delve into markets and all things finance, exploring subtle intricacies missed by most I see and appreciate the patterns that exist. A repetitive spiral of trippy dancing fractals. A beautiful genetic inception. The nature of Fibonacci’s code. Everything is connected. Nothing is separate.
My mind wanders during free time away from money study, introspective moments of self work and contemplating my next fast or taste of perfectly seared steak paired with a wine having a name I’d struggle to pronounce. From time to time a post like this is likely to surface from in between more focused pieces. Take away what you will from my tangents.
