It was a real treat to be asked by Newington Green Meeting House to lead on their LGBT History Month 2021 celebrations by leading a talk on Molly Houses in and around Hackney. Molly Houses were gay pubs and spaces in 1700s London where gay and queer men could play and experiment with their gender and sexual identity, take part in mock rituals, such as births and marriages, and even speak their own language!
