Do Your Dreams (Goals) Scare You?

Do Your Dreams (Goals) Scare You?

Oct 09, 2021

I came across this quote & it got me to thinking. Sometimes we need to strive for something we can actually achieve. So we feel a sense of accomplishment & also don't get overwhelmed. Maybe what we want to learn or experience is simple. A new recipe, for example. Not everything in life is going to be extremely or even moderately challenging. It's nice to have basic goals to reach as well. It can make it easier to want to try for more.

We know that pursuing something more difficult will take time, effort & care. Possibly funding. Especially if we're wanting to start a business or go on the trip of a lifetime. What, if any, have been obstacles for you? I believe that some people are so concerned that this very important passion of theirs will somehow fall through. The fear of failing is worse than not even attempting it. I don't know about you, but I don't want to be left wondering, what if?

Part of the scariness is feeling something or someone (maybe ourselves) will make the house of cards come tumbling down. Our dreams can be delicate & fragile. Which is why we may not even share them with anyone else or hardly anyone. They wouldn't understand. I get that.

I'm at the point in my life it's time to stop holding back as I have for so many years. Health, financial, my ex are the main reasons as to why. There's so much I feel I should have done by now. I still have health & financial as blocks. Even so, I'm going to move forward, even in small ways. Just to get the momentum going.

I've mentioned before I want to have a nice home with a bit of land. To rescue kitties, doggos & a few other critters. Senior, challenged & those needing hospice. I have stage 4 uterine cancer. That's scary in itself. I'm not going to let it stop me.

It's why I have this blog. My temp disability doesn't quite cover my rent & utilities. Let alone anything else. I have faith that my writing will not just supplement that benefit, but will eventually be taking care of everything I need. I will have that rescue. What about you? What is your dream that you're working toward or that you're still in the planning stages with?
