Our Salons

Monthly Salon building friendships, supporting writers, & the literary community, 6pm last Tuesday of the month currently on Zoom.

A Bit of History

Edinburgh Literary Salon arose out of the awarding of the world’s first UNESCO European City of Literature title to Edinburgh in 2004. It reflected the literary heritage of the City, and emulated the famous Salons of the Scottish Enlightenment where poets, songwriters, diarists and novelists rubbed shoulders with the eminent and wealthy. After drastic cuts in funding, the City of Literature team were unable to continue sponsorship, but the Salon was valued by its members, who took over, expanded objectives and have continued to run for 3 years, with no funding support.

By supporting us you will allow us to continue and expand into the future. You can now buy us a coffee! Check out our different 5 levels from Flash Fiction £1 up to Novel £ 20 per month ... Or tip any money you want.
