Made It Down the Long Road

Made It Down the Long Road

Sep 20, 2021

9/20: finished my journey through Texas, Colorado, Oklahoma, Wyoming, and far across to the west of Montana and settled near Missoula, Montana!

It's now Monday and spent my first night camped out in the mountains. Met most of the bootcamp crew already and setup my tent up at a spot called "The Volcano" (not yet sure why it's called that. It surely IS NOT a real volcano though). The views have been gorgeous and am grateful to have a familiar face around. It sure makes it easier to settle in around strangers. So far everyone here is friendly; far from the sentiment I knew down in Florida where everyone seemed so self-absorbed majority of the time.

It's the first morning of bootcamp and it appears I am the first one to make it down to basecamp in time for breakfast, but also before anything has yet to be cooked. Eventually, I'll feel comfortable taking the lead on that.

It's 46° this morning and was rather tough to get out of the comfort of my sleeping bag and comforter. But the trek down the mountain was quick to get me going again.

Here are some photos of my campsite and wonderful helping hands and a shot I took from a nearby vista hiking trail:
