So the purpose of this journey is really one of soul searching. I've always felt an affinity toward working with my hands. I find I'm quite dexterous a lot of the time. I mean, growing up with Legos and all sorts of building block toys, how could I not be. Not only that, but also as I developed my passion for music through teaching myself to play the guitar. It's been about 17 years of that now and I'd still say I'm just "pretty good"...... 🎸🎶
Now, here I am after essentially getting laid off of my latest job and finding out that virtually nowhere in Florida has there been an opportunity to work in a place that shares the same principles that I'd like to live my life by, but also I am just tired of working odd jobs for a meager wage doing something I wholly do not enjoy. So, after completing my online PDC certification through Oregon State University, I wanted to find where I could put my knowledge directly into the field and gain the hands-on experience. The necessary experience to beat out that typical Catch-22 of applying to jobs that always seem to require experience in said jobs before applying.... yeah... you know what I'm talking about...
So for tonight I land at a rest stop in the middle of Texas. About to attempt sleeping the night away in order to finish my next leg of the trip to Lubbock and visit with my grandpa before I continue on Northward to Colorado. ✌😴
