What is My Bottom Line?
One day I will become an elder and from the mental state, I contemplate what would my life represent. What will be my legacy?
Anybody that knows me well knows I love to sit at the feet of the elders (wisdom keepers)/and absorb and visualize their stories. From a young age I would spend plenty of time with my Grandmother Lucy and her boyfriend Sister Dot, and just listen for hours and they cut up as they would say about the generations prior.
It didn't matter where I was, if there was an elder nearby I made it my duty to assist whether it was their groceries, laundry or crossing the street. I don't know why then but seeing an elder I felt this sense of pride like I knew I was near the closest thing to God. I also feel this way about babies, but the elders had the power to bless or curse you.
I can listen to any elder for hours it didn't matter if I ate or drank anything I felt the power in each story. Many of them had tragic stories but no matter what story was told for some reason they would always find in their hearts to bless me with prayers, prophecy and just overall speak life into me then and in my future.
Why would I not when I have the opportunity to make a difference in the world, not assist our wisdom keepers in any way I can. I am here alive kicking and strong from all the prayers from every elder that has crossed my path. I am the "Protector of the Elders" the almost forgotten ones.
I have seen families' lives come to ruin with the foundation which held the family together transition. And many of the times this havoc that was placed on them was from the last breath of the elder before they passed on. There are just too many elders being abused and taken advantage of.
The homes of many are in disarray, no respect is in the homes in which wisdom keepers dwell. Many generational curses come from our wisdom keepers. For the abuse you put on them they curse the rest of their bloodline. It's truly a sad and common occurrence.
I am very close to the elders no matter where I am in the world you will find me by their side. As my journey to dharma may I plant the seed that will bear fruits that will allow me to spend my last years in peace and harmony. May the seeds I plant with each elder sponsor be charged towards my last days.
For it not one day I don't think about when I will be in this position take care of the one who created our lineage and you will be taken care of in return.
