I’m alive! And no I’m not sick or anything but I did take a while so I thought I’d be a little silly with this introduction 😅
October was fun but also a bit complicated. Let me explain.
Since before the beginning of the month, I had planned to do the Halloween event which I’ll go into more depth in another post after this one but basically I had that on my mind from before the month started until the month ended, and even now that the month is over I have thoughts about it. But aside from that I had and still have another stress on my mind which is content. I haven’t been able to and wasn’t able to be as consistent in content as I would’ve liked but there were a ton of things in October!
First we had the Budokan event in Guayaquil which was AMAZING!!!! Honestly I wish we had a big event like that in portoviejo but the closest thing to it has been the Anime Rock Sinfónico which I also live-streamed but was clearly not the same. I had never attended an anime event that big and I never would’ve expected to feel such a surge of emotions from listening to openings sung in a language that wasn’t my main one. Maybe it’s because I’m an anime fan, or maybe it’s because the songs held a ton of meaning, but what I am sure of is that the experience was unforgettable and I’m definitely contemplating (75% sure) going next year! 🙌
After that there was no rest for the weary, we went straight into Portoviejo festivities which started with the elections of the queen of Manabi. I decided I would try to do something fun and ask the girls to give a few words in English but I had a hurdle to jump first, and that was to be able to talk to them in the first place. On one night I went super prepared and hopeful to be able to talk to them (the night of the runway) and was unable to because once the event was over and they had a small photo session, they were gone. The night of the actual election of queen was my last chance but even that required me to wait until the end and even then there were 2 queens who decided not to participate and the queen who won the competition was surrounded by bodyguards. It was unfortunate but that’s just how these things are 😕
Once that was over it was on to the next thing which were the parades. On one occasion it was the general Portoviejo parade and in the other it was the School parade and after that there was, you guessed it, ANOTHER PARADE! 😵💫
I couldn’t go to the last parade so I just got the footage for the first two and got to work on making short videos of each.
Then once that was done with I went back to what needed to be done which was my most current video about driving. I had to get that one done instead of my education video because I couldn’t get the scenes recorded for the education video. It’s unfortunate but I’ve resigned myself to accepting that the education video is going to be a little more bland than what I would’ve liked. 😔
Now that the month is over I’m moving on to making more videos in order to have more content readily available to watch, it’s not a quick process but it’s an honest one and I hope it keeps being enjoyable. 🫡
I really appreciate everyone who listens to me rant here and gets to know a bit more about what I do because sometimes I feel that not many people would understand without these explanations, heck if I were the one watching I’d wonder too why it takes so long lol
But anyways I’ve ranted enough on here, I still have to go into more detail with the Halloween event but I’ll leave that for a separate post so if you’re a member you’ll get to see the more detailed thoughts of that soon enough 🥲
