In the motion picture industry, the typical running time for a good comedy is about 90 minutes, a drama often reaches two hours, and an “epic” may well exceed the three-hour mark. Most of the street photography I make is captured at 1/250th or 1/500th of a second; pretty economical storytelling, yes?

Drawing inspiration from David Lynch, rockabilly and garage rock, rusty cars, coffee and diners, mid-century modern, cold water, sleep or the lack thereof, road trips, graffiti, Pembroke Welsh Corgis…and, of course, people…

Street Photography:

  • Shows observable but often missed or overlooked moments, and finds significance in the seemingly mundane;
  • Tells a story in a tiny fraction of a second, making these images a remarkably efficient narrative form;
  • Captures people in unguarded moments, revealing their true selves;
  • Connects with the detective in the viewer, encouraging examination and exploration, and stirring the imagination.

Every dollar collected here is will be used to support my work by helping to pay for camera gear and its care and maintenance, any travel expenses, and cash gifts to the homeless and hungry…prople living on the streets.

I will donate 10 percent of any earnings collected here to community organizations actively working to defeat homelessness.

Documenting the world around us…it's important work.

I believe that street photography is central to the issue of photography—that it is purely photographic, whereas the other genres, such as landscape and portrait photography, are a little more applied, more mixed in the with the history of painting and other art forms.
