Writing

Canadian writer of speculative fiction, Patheos.com essays, and reviews. Based in Medellín, Colombia, & working on being a better humanist while prepping pitches for a first novel.

Welcome to my BMC page! I find the Patreon model for creator-support a little intense, so I'm trying something a little more informal.

How I would so love to go for coffee with so many people around the world--not least being all my friends and family back in Canada. Making a proper go at life as a writer in Colombia is a bit lonely, but if I write something that inspires the digital equivalent of "Oh, yeah, I'd definitely have a coffee with M L Clark to talk about that piece more!"... well, that would be pretty grand, and affirming.

So, thanks for reading this, if you did! Wherever your own creative path finds you, I hope there are many opportunities for coffee breaks with old and new friends in it, too.

I liken this to having a coffee and intelligent conversation. Your work is excellent; it is very thought provoking...and, oh the questions that pop up like bubbles!

Hi  I would like to talk with you about your vision of what a humanist is.  I am developing a picture of psychological health in a person for some writing I am doing and would like another, particularly nonreligious, perspective.  Have you done any writing or thinking about this.  Maybe we could communicate by email or Facebook.  My email address is [email protected]  I hope to hear from you.  Thanks.

Hi Susan! I sent you an email at a time when, for some reason, this screen was locked on pretty much the opening line of your comment. Now I can see all! I have a column at patheos.com, Another White Atheist in Colombia, where I discuss my approach to globally minded secular humanism. Would love to chat with you about your work in progress! All best wishes!
