Pop into my head and I can’t place it-
Where I heard it, why I heard it. But sometimes and only sometimes I will be reminded right around 630/7 pm of tv shows that were on every night when I was a kid.
(Maybe they still are but I don’t have cable or really watch tv)
My mom would be doing something in the kitchen or maybe talking on the phone with her friend.- Therefore my friends could not call me. They’d get a ‘busy signal’. (If you know what this is you’re as old AF like me)
The wire only went so far.... so she’d be in the kitchen or wherever the wire would go. Or she’d be getting ready for bed. (Yes phones had wires in the Paleolithic era)
My dad was usually at work second shift. But on the weekends he’d watch something entertaining- like comedy shows with Redd Fox. He always liked him and a few other famous people...
Ah. -Now I am clear with my memory jog... the song is from a show called Sanford and Son... it would be on at night - right around that time after the kids shows came on. You know, when the streetlights came on... you had to go in.
Those days. I miss them.
I miss my mom who passed away suddenly from a bad accident.
I miss my friends from -being a kid.
Half of them are gone now too, but we would do stupid kid shit.
It’s like all the old people- when they reminisce about days gone past and they wished things had stayed ‘simpler.’
I’d have to agree. Maybe that’s just me being sorrowful. Or getting old.. but would I die if I never knew that the internet existed? Or if I never saw a meme in my life?
There was a cartoon called The Jetsons... we are living it now and really is it as fun as they made it seem?
Probably not, but then again if it didn’t exist- nobody would be able to see my work, or buy me a coffee ☕️....
