Being a non-traditional student certainly has its challenges. The same challenges you deal with at home have to be dealt with regardless of the time difference between the US and Europe. I find myself working into the wee hours to be able to reach people. Thanks to modern technology this is possible. It has been empowering to know that I can do my part despite the distance. I am thrilled that I have secured a studio apartment in Florence. Now I can focus on my thesis research and upcoming Skype call with our new MFA program director next week.
