I'm ridiculously excited! When I started thinking about my latest novel, The Tarot Card Murders, I realized I wanted the main character (a professional tarot reader who works with the police to solve crimes) to have a unique deck.

And then I realized that I wanted my own unique deck. I combined two of my loves tarot cards and design and created my own!

I do Live tarot readings on FB conveniently called Tarot Live. And I've started using my own deck, and it is amazingly easy to read with.

There are a few things you must know when you get a deck.

  • Make sure you love the art

  • Make sure you see the stories in the deck

If the art and symbols speak to you, it'll be easy to read. A deck that works for you will inspire stories. That's one of the things most people don't talk about when it comes to the tarot. You aren't a reader as much as you're a storyteller. You have to study the images and symbols. And then you have to interpret and synthesize everything you see into a cohesive tale. And here's the other thing most readers don't talk about. The story you see in the cards might not make sense to you, but if you stick to the story you see, you'll be amazed at how often it makes perfect sense to the person you're reading for.

In the end, trust yourself to see and tell the stories. Ultimately, that's how it works.
