I read a fantastic quote yesterday that read "goodness isn't something that's going to be delivered by mail. You have to dig it up inside your own soul. You find it within your own thoughts, and you make it with your own actions."

This quote really resonated with me. How often do we wake up in the morning and hope that today will be a good day? We hope for good news, good weather, good things to happen to us, and typically that will dictate and measure our levels of happiness, motivation and drive for the day.

It is so important to realize that we can't let the externalities of life dictate how we feel, otherwise, we will always be chasing happiness, instead of creating it ourselves.

Barton Goldsmith, Ph.D., has a great short blog post on 10 Simple Ways to Find Happiness. He says that "happiness and fulfillment are within [our] grasp, but sometimes just out of reach. Understanding what works best for you is the first step in finding them more often."

I hope through these 10 steps, each and every one of us can start creating our own happiness every single day for a more inspired and fulfilled life.
