James Clear the author of Atomic Habits, beautifully wrote:

"A quick and easy tip for building habits that last: Pick a standard time and place to do it. It’s easier to wake up knowing "I exercise at 4 pm" than to decide each time when to fit a habit into your day. If it’s already decided, all you need to do is show up."

We talk all the time about routine, and why building a proper routine will set you up for success.

A routine provides a sense of structure and familiarity. Structure is a way of organizing your life so that it makes sense to you. You can wake up with a sense of order and organization in your life allowing you to be more productive and efficient. But don't just take my word for it, check out this list of 18 Reasons Why a Daily Routine is So Important.

Additionally, Brad Brenner, P.h.D, writes in his article, The Mental Health Benefits of Having a Daily Routine that routines help alleviate anxiety, stress, and other mental illnesses.

Try it out. Create some sort of structure in your life for the next 3 days. Take out a piece of paper or use an app on your phone and create a routine for yourself. Commit to this routine for just 3 days, and see for yourself how much more you can accomplish and how much better you will feel knowing there is organization and structure in your day.
