The minister of tourism has declared a partnership with Middle Eastern airline Emirates as domestic flight capacity remains controlled. The tourism minister said that during a visit to Dubai, two-sided agreements were made with the middle-eastern airline to give it entry to South Africa’s domestic routes while Emirates promotes South Africa abroad. The South Africa Travel Board, in the meantime, will work with the airline to support tourism trade partners and trip operators across the Emirates’ network to develop and promote routes, announce special packages and promotional giveaways, and encourage incentives, among other marketing advantages.
