Travel Insurance – Why its better to be safe then sorry when travelling abroad outside your own country.

Travelling is exciting,its fun, its inspirational, its adventurous. It can also be Suprising in all ways including eventful for all the unwanted reasons.
Which is why I would like to discuss more in further about Travel Insurance and why I always make sure its included in my travel budget, on my packing list, included in my travel research and one thing I never miss out on purchasing before I go anywhere – even if I am travelling and it expires I will repurchase cover whilst abroad because the cost of not having it far outweighs the cost of purchasing it.
Imagine being somewhere so foriegn and something bad happens – like you fall off a bike and brake your leg, your luggage gets lost, your belongings get stolen from your hostel room, you miss your flight for some reason. What would you do? who would you call? Even millionaires have Travel Insurance because they know the value of it and how its a must have.
The Internet is such a large place with so many companies about how do you find the best Travel Insurance that suits you? I know the most convenient way would be to google search – but even then you wont want to go through many tabs of companies to find what best suits you.
Which brings me to how I found the Travel Insurance that I use, I was going through some travel blogs ( because thats what we like to do right?!) and noticed who they were using. I did some research on the company by reading through the website and realised this was the exact Travel Insurance I was requiring for my needs, aswell as being convenient with being able to book further cover whilst still abroad when I needed to extend or change my travel plans.

I have been using World Nomads Travel Insurance for years now – I think about 8 years from memory. I found out about World Nomads Travel Insurance through friends who were also travelling long term at the time (their blog) . I done my research on it and got a free quote done up, thats when I decided that this would be my go to Travel Insurance.

The original Travel Insurance company policy I used only lasted for a maximum of 12 months and they wouldnt let me re-purchase it overseas if I stayed longer and I had to purchase within NZ before I left. That and the price was well above what I had budgeted for with this other company. With all this unfamilier terriory for me at the time I purchased it for that trip but due to the restrictions and not having flexible options I didnt continue with that company afterwards for any future travel.
