What happens if I cheat 1 day on keto?

Well, the simple answer is that you WILL kick yourself out of ketosis.

Is it worth it? To undo what took 7-10 days to achieve. That my friend you have to weigh on your own.

I have had my share of cheat days, then having to start from the top again. It is definitely something that I found myself struggling with in the beginning of my journey. The best thing about keto is that there are so many alternatives to the old eating habits you had.

Every time I had a craving for something that was not keto "friendly", I would google a substitute. There are so many options out there. It even came to the point where I would create my own recipes with the keto approved shopping list (Lazyketoneek's Beginners guide to the Keto Life).

Keto Keys to Avoiding Cheating!

  • Plan out your meals and snacks - this makes it less likely that you will get hungry and cave to a craving.

  • Make you meals enjoyable - variation is key, eating the same thing over and over will get boring and cause a cheat.

  • Keep the tempting foods out of your house

  • Have an accountability partner

  • Only eat when you are hungry.

If you find yourself caving to your cravings, here are a few tips to help you get back into ketosis:

  • Intermittent Fasting

  • Exercise

  • Consume MCTs

  • Track your carb intake

  • Egg fast

  • Stay hydrated
