(EN) Shooting Star Dogma
Losing a child is not easy. Many people say it “goes against the very nature of things.” And honesty, I can only agree. When you lose them even before they are born, you’re facing thousands of monsters no one can warn you about.
That’s why I wrote this poem. It’s not the traditional rosey poetry, where you hear how pregnancy is the very best, babies are angels, and whatnot. No.
Pregnancy is a beautiful process, but has thousands of inward changes that could seem like what I describe. There are several unspoken symptoms: some of them are covered around this with the metaphors and figures.
When that pregnancy goes wrong, those symptoms are worse. It’s nightmarish.
I tried to be more crude and open.
I don’t talk about “me”, but about “us”: usually the partner is forgotten. I didn’t want to do that.
I used the word “dogma”, because usually you don’t get any images of your child early on. So it’s harder to actually have something to grieve if you suffer from an early pregnancy lose.
And finally… there’s a small indulgence. The structure and sections are to honour our own starlets. We did see you. We love you.
Shooting Star Dogma
Fair Ticket
Lines. Strong. Defined.
You announced yourself clearly.
Almost cheekily,
Just like your siblings:
Bare naked, exposed, no shame,
Throwing decency,
Conventions, parental necessities
Far, far away, into
That galaxy of “I-don’t-give-a-damn!”
I heard you. We heard you.
Heart and soul hanging on an instant
And dragging us relentless into the Unknown.
Merry-Go-Round
I felt you. We felt you.
Over and over again, turning around in endless glee
My hormonal Merry-Go-Round;
Changing storms into sunny days
Or that papier-mâché pony into the zombie
Who devoured the unicorn,
While we, in all our glory,
Held parties of our own:
A visible and an invisible one
In my womb. Our womb,
Cotton Candy(ies)
and you jumped at once
Over all the candy you could find
Like a brand new world, yours to explore;
A orgiaspectacuficentitoxicatinlurid* rock-a-by
That proved your obvious vitality
4.Hall of Mirrors
In a distorted reality
Made of Soul Crystals
For other -topsy-turvy- souls.
Encompassed of eye-prickling Stardust
Able to build a whole new world
Where there’s a multiple double infinite,
Where mortals are almighty,
Zip line
In a vertiginous (im)balance
A fake immortality,
A psychedelic omnipotence.
Until the cable and harness rot
Taking away what little harmony we had
And force us to search
For somewhere (someone) to hold on
While the souls, numb,
Won’t allow us to.
While society won’t allow us to.
So (neo)Puritan in its (pseudo)Liberality.
Nothing. No One.
Impasse
Because “they are not alive.”
There are no voices. No laughs.
Only eternal cycles
Of love and unintelligible madness
Without beginning or end.
A dogma of Faith.
A dogma of Love.
A dogma of Shooting Stars.
Cual mundos ignotos por explorar;
Vaivén cuasi orgiastiespeluztembriagántico,
Prueba innegable de su tangente vitalidad
Casa de Espejos
en una realidad distorsionada
De cristales de almas
Para otras almas -confusas.
De polvo de estrellas
Que pica en los ojos
O pinta un mundo de colores
Donde se alcanza el múltiple infinito,
Donde todo lo podemos los mortales;
Tirolesa
Obligándonos a buscar asidero
Cuando las almas, entumecidas,
No lo permiten.
Ni la sociedad
Tan (neo)puritana en su (pseudo)liberalidad.
Nada. Nadie.
Impasse
Porque “no están vivos.”
No hay voces. Ni risas.
Sólo ciclos eternos
De amores y locura incomprensible
Sin principio ni fin.
Dogma de fe.
Dogma de amor humano.
Dogma de Estrella(s) Fugaz(ces).
