If you love creating, then create. No one can limit you but yourself. Follow your passion no matter what your circumstances, age, background, or level in this industry.
My first young adult (YA) book took me fifteen years to write. Those fifteen years would have come and gone whether I wrote or not. I needed that time to find my voice and to learn how to write a novel while balancing a full time job, raising a son, and partnering with my husband. That is my journey. Yours may be different.
My second YA book took a year and a half, and now I'm working on the third and final book in this trilogy. I also have three YA standalone projects lined-up. What are you working on, I'd love to hear about your current project? I am super excited to share my journey and what I've learned in hopes it will help you on yours.
A little bit more about me...I am proud to say my stories cross borders—connecting with readers in several countries across the globe—receiving praise from Kirkus Reviews, The Booklife Prize by Publishers Weekly, Reedsy Discovery, OnlineBookClub, and Readers Favorite among others. Writer’s Digest described my work as “exciting and refreshing”. In addition, I am honored to be a two-time finalist in both the New York Book Awards and the Readers Favorite Book Awards.
As a graduate of NYU with a BA in Theater Arts, I utilize theatrical training to develop multi-dimensional characters and rich world-building that support the stories I create.
In additional to writing and reading stories, I am also a reviewer at NetGalley and Reedsy Discovery, and a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), Wordsmith Studio, and the 88 Cups of Tea podcast & community.
I look forward to connecting with you here and across platforms. Follow your dream. Find your voice. Unlock your creative journey.
