Micro-Chop is a newsletter, Twitter account, and website created and written by me, Gino Sorcinelli. It dissects beatmaking, DJing, music production, rapping, and sampling.
Micro-Chop started as a Medium publication in 2016. In 2019 I switched to an article/newsletter hybrid. These days I continue to self-publish my own work, write for other outlets, and maintain an active Twitter account that features popular music threads and unique monthly playlists I build on my timeline day by day.
I’ve also written engaging, narrative non-fiction articles for Ableton, HipHopDX, Okayplayer, Passion of the Weiss, Red Bull Music Academy, Reverb, Roland, and several other outlets. My Micro-Chop article on the making of 'Madvillainy' was selected for inclusion in the book 'Best Damn Hip Hop Writing: 2018.'
