Kia ora/Hello,

Update #1

I'm writing this as I sit in my dining room after a brief time watching the news for pandemic updates. Does anyone else experience symptoms (like raised glands, headache, brain fog) after listening to content that's dripped in fear? Well, I sure do. It reminded me how important it is to be conscious of what you consume- In every way (food, media, education, music, conversation). At the same time not shutting ourselves off, or judging, but being aware of how things affect us and discerning what to keep or discard. Sometimes it's as simple as turning off the TV, other times it might look like placing some personal boundaries in relationships.

On my journey, I've found my key to feeling good while growing has been small sustainable changes. Maybe you've decided something needs to change in your lifestyle, maybe that feels a little overwhelming and maybe it doesn't. I've found healthy living through focusing on small shifts (which are usually not as small as we think). Every step paves the way towards the life you lead. Show gratitude to each step even the ones you consider bad.

Something I wish I had been told years ago... show yourself grace and compassion. Beating yourself up over mishaps or the rate of progress doesn't help and it also doesn't feel good, so be kind to yourself. Remember to celebrate all the wins no matter how small they may seem. It could be as simple as "I made it through today even though it was hard". You being here, existing, that is worth celebrating.

Thank you for being here,

Mauri Aroha,

~Jade

P.S: I normally edit and proofread a lot before sharing stuff but for this space I wanted to keep it real, particularly updates will be free flow thoughts and expression.

PSS: This is a photo of the full moon from the dining room I'm sitting in and as you can see I'm still figuring out how to use my camera lol.
