As some of you know and most of you don't, I'm always tuning the machine; particularly CREAM. What's the point of a dynamic system if it stays static? Everything is in constant flux in the NFL, especially the numbers, whether because of teams and players, week to week conditions, or most often the way each slate sets up in regards to the pricing, value, the quality of games relative to one another, etc. As such, so we must keep our blade sharp, our style dangerous.

CREAM, Fibonacci and The Golden Ratio

The Golden Ratio is awesome. It's 1.618. I'm not going to explain it because we're all adults with access to Google, but it's found in a lot of places and often referred to as the divine proportion. Fibonacci is rad too and on Google. Anyways, as an amateur mathemagician, I like to mess with it and see where I can find it or use it to get to places. For example:

((Salary Cap1.618)+(Roster Spots*1.618))*1.618 which is ((50*1.618)+(9*1.618))*1.618=154.45

What's the big deal about 154.45? Check this out! These are the average cashlines for various Draftkings GPPs and Cash Games along with the winning score.



"ARE YOU SHITTING ME?" NO. I am not. Very similar isn't it? In fact, the multi-entry average between GPP and Cash Games is 154.07, which is 99.75% of our previous number. You want to know something else? If we take our original number of 154.45 and multiply it once more by The Golden Ratio, we get 249.91, which is pretty much the median for the GPP winning score.

SO, where does Fibonacci come in? Fibonacci is basically where the two previous numbers in a sequence to equal the next. It naturally occurs with 0,1,1,2,3,5,8,13,21,34,55,89, 144 etc. You can take any two consecutive numbers in that sequence and their sum will equal the third number in the sequence. Now if you understand The Golden Ratios relationship to this, you may know what's coming. Remember how we started? 50*1.618 and 9*1.618 ? Those numbers total 95.462 and our third number was 154.457516 and our final number was 249.9123. Well, wouldn't you know it 95.462+154.45756 just so happens to equal 249.91 ?!?!
