August was my most productive month of the year so far. I wrote 14641 words and edited 55323 words.
This is my most productive month of the year so far. It's been good to get sat down and get some progress made. I've spent years getting words done and rewriting and rewriting things, but now it feels like I'm making some progress, and not just going around in circles.
I also only had seven days where I didn't write or edit. Even if on the odd day I didn't get a lot done, I still got something done. That's one of the things I'm aiming for, consistency. Another is getting more focussed. At the moment I'm letting myself get very distracted, when I should be gaining more focus. My drive and determination is increasing and I think focus will come with it. I think working out my times to write around work and other non-writing bits and pieces will help that focus as well.
This year has been such a difficult one and I'm slowly getting back on my feet, both with writing and with life. I've still got a long way to go, but it feels good seeing my productivity go up.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post. I'm going to be posting these at the start of each month, and I hope you'll keep reading and if you want a more of a day to day update then please feel free to check out my blog at petergermany.com
