This month it’s really simple, write 50,000 words. It’s NaNoWriMo, baby! And blog each day.
It’s not that simple though. For me it’s complicated. It’s writing every day. It’s hitting a minimum of 1667 words a day regardless of what I wrote the day before. It’s being consistent with writing. Apparently it takes twenty-one days of doing something for it to become a habit. It’s not editing what has already been written.
For me the 50k isn’t daunting. I’ve done it before. For me it’s being consistent with word wrangling.
I also know it doesn’t matter if I hit the 50k, that’s not (in my opinion) what National Novel Writing Month is about. It’s about getting a first draft done.
