Russia's Vladimir Putin gives a warm welcome to Xi Jin ping on his visit to the Kremlin on Monday. A meeting which was perceived by some as a clear message of rebuttal to efforts made by the west to ostracize Russia.
The Chinese Leader's visit is his first made after re-election a move which served to validate and show solidarity for Putin after a warrant was issued for his arrest by the international criminal court over his role in the on going war in Ukraine.
China and some other countries see Russia as a source of affordable oil and the 3days visit has been described as both as a means of strengthening their relationship which has been described as "without limits"
Vladimir Putin heartily expressed his congratulations to Xi Jin ping at the same time expressing his desire for greater cooperation between the two countries. He also did not fail to comment on the enviable development made by in recent years by the Chinese.
It is critical to note that both Moscow and Beijing feel drawn together by a sense of camaraderie created by the aggressive and oppressive stance of Washington.
As the world becomes more and more multipolar, it has increasingly become difficult for the US and is allies to maintain their hegemony over global affairs.
Moscow further indicated that China's call was for a Ceasefire in Ukraine was very much welcome.
