Monsters

Little girl,

Adventurous,

Young soul,

Discovers,

The world,

And the evil,

It withholds.

Skipping,

Through meadows,

Finding lost caves,

She never,

Understood,

To survive,

Is to be brave.

Beaten,

By hands,

Of the ones,

Meant to care,

Little girl cries,

Little girl,

Always scared.

Pushed,

Into dirt,

Often called names,

Pushed down,

And choked,

Though she only,

Longed to play.

Young woman,

Tortured,

Old soul,

Helpless,

In the world,

Only yearns,

To be whole.

Lost love,

And an infant,

Lost hope,

Almost herself,

Buried in books,

Belonging,

On the shelf.

Broken,

By those,

Who ripped out,

Her heart,

Never again,

Will love,

Tear her apart.

Yet again,

She loved,

So deep,

So true,

Take us away,

Let me vanish,

With you.

Monsters,

In my head,

Like the ones,

Under my bed,

Monsters of mind,

I wish,

You were dead.

Invincible darkness,

Impossible,

To defeat,

Back off,

Let me live,

For you almost,

Have me beat.

Monsters take those,

I love dearly,

Love the most,

Bury them,

In the ground,

Bind them,

To a post.

Drowning,

With the monsters,

Who torment,

All of us,

We can't take anymore,

For we've all,

Had enough.
