Santos, lies and what it tells us about the GOP

Jan 12, 2023

George Santos is not the first politician to lie about his resume. There have been many who've done it before. Some have exaggerated their resumes, & others have fabricated stories about themselves. But not one has done what Santos did.

In 1952, 30 years old Douglas Stringfellow Was elected to Congress. Toward the end of his term, it was revealed that his story about participating in a secret mission to capture a German atomic physicist during WWII, being captured by the Nazis, brutally tortured, & becoming a paraplegic, was a total fabrication.

It turns out that while he was not actually a paraplegic. He had been wounded in a mine explosion during a mission in France. For the 1954 election, The Republican party replaced him with another candidate. He died from a heart attack at the age of 44.

Today, Nassau County's GOP Has called for Santos to resign immediately. But Kevin McCarthy still stuck with Santos, saying: "The voters made the decision and he has a right to serve here” Are you F kidding me? The voters made a decision based on Santos' deception, fraud, and lies!

Remember this every time you here Kevin McCarthy talk about accountability, transparency, & law and order. Here's my prediction: It might take weeks or months, but Santos will be forced to resign from office. At some point, the GOP will realize he's more of a burden than an asset.
