“Mum? What are you doing here!?”

“Mum? What are you doing here!?”

It was the first spring morning in years that it felt like winter had ended. She walked outside to greet the sun, feeling it's warmth on her skin for the first time since she'd lost her mother. When she reached the garden, she saw a single daffodil blooming-the only one who seemed to have survived this harsh winter. As she bent down to pick up the flower, its petals brushed against her cheek and softly whispered "I love you."
