OMG
I am scared! I think I’m getting ready to buy my guitar! I know about 5 chords but I see myself really enjoying this!
I have always wanted to accompany myself in some sort of way. I had the most horrendous piano teacher as a child. She was awful! If you played the wrong notes she would take the ruler and hit your hands. I am a sensitive person who totally internalizes mistakes and so for a child to be treated in that way totally fucked up my desire to play anything!
Each and every week I’d come out of that lesson in tears and shaking. When I saw the piano I had a secret desire to play but the trama was just too much for me to actually do it!
So my mama knew I was a singer and asked me how would I accompany myself in the future. I simply replied “I’m gonna marry a musician” and guess what I did just that!
So for years, I had no desire to play anything! I was just fine carrying my instrument in my throat!
Fast forward….I’m 52 and I have decided to do things shaking in my boots!!!! So here we go!
For now I have my toe in the water and I’ve got my guitar in the Fender shopping cart! (LOL) I have goosebumps and I’m totally shaking!!!!
So I’m gonna do it…..I will let you know when!
