New Paper Test v6, and coin selection tips in a bear market

Aug 12, 2022

I started a fresh set up paper tests for 12th August with a many of the community settings and a few new "Tests" settings of my own.

Now the Paper Test link (Please don't share with public as its for members for now)

This time the aim of these tests was to only pick coins that was beginning to look better and on the road to recovery, coins I would have been more comfortable running if I was using real money due to the "chart" and not fundamentals. Please note I still think we are not bullish, but there's signs of DCA bots being able to run well again. For safety stick to bots with at least 60% deviation, and if you can afford it, ones with good low RC% as it fills safety orders.

Ok so lets get down to coin selection, I will show why I picked these coins for my tests.

  • Daily Bullish TK cross, (Sadly its below cloud, but ideal situation would be above cloud as well before entering. Or same situation on a weekly timeframe would be much better)

  • Trending up, clear sign of a trend line or Channel

  • Good volatility, Lots of up and downs, but more importantly going up, and obvious big green candles.

If any of conditions change, you would want to start getting out of that coin on your bot. I'm pretty sure some of these coins won't hold their trendline/channel, so I would actively set some conditions for yourself when picking coins of your own.

Near (this one isn't the best selections but a sharp trend line, and more big green candles)

Algo

Atom

Avax

Eth

BTC

Matic

Sol

Aave

Ada (one of the weaker looking recovery but because its well know I added it. Performance in pasts have always been slightly below average as it doesn't have the volatility/movement)

Crv

Uni (this looks much better than the rests, its even ABOVE the red cloud, and green cloud forming on the far right). This is the optimum reason I would look at starting a DCA bot in a bear market.

Now some tips on what coins are not quite ready to pick.

Sand - Everything looks good apart from the recent few candles, they seem to be getting smaller and losing volatility. I would rather wait for change or select another coin.

Waves Wave without any indicators and zoomed out the coin just looks dreadful and will get greedy people with huge red bags if not careful
