Small but Mighty Productions was founded in the summer of 2015 by the company’s Artistic Director, Caitlin Turner and resident writer, Melly Magrath. After graduating from Randolph College for the Performing Arts and entering the audition scene in Toronto, the two quickly realized what so many aspiring performers had learned before them—just how few interesting an dynamic female characters actually existed. Why WERE female roles always attached to a leading man!?  

Like the industrious women they are, they took matters into their own hands, and Small but Mighty Productions was born. Its mission is simple: to create meaningful roles for women in theatre, with an emphasis on creating and producing queer-positive, original Canadian content.
