I was so inspired by Jack's book and our chat, that I now have a small fundraising effort on my Facebook page, which you can view here, supporting a local non-profit called Just In Time for Foster Youth. This is an organization I've been following for a little while and what they do is provide services for older foster children who are transitioning out of foster care and into adulthood. They help to guide these young adults into "real life," which TOO many young people emerging from foster care do not have.
It absolutely BREAKS MY HEART to know that there are so many children who are coming from broken backgrounds and into the world with so little to guide them, so I hope that in supporting organizations like this, we can help to make their futures brighter because they are all our future.
