People love to say that they didn't blow up overnight, even though it might feel that way to the casual observer who hasn't been paying attention. I'm sure someone might say that about me when I make it to the next level in my publishing career.
BUT ...
There are days, like this morning, where I am going through the struggle portion of this graphic.
Y'all, I'm tired.
There's been a lot going on behind the scenes that I'm not going to disclose publicly, at least, not yet anyway, but I'm blessed that things are trending up, to say the least.
However, that doesn't mean that the doubts don't creep up. I have dragon-scale skin when it comes to criticism, but at the same time, I'm not immune to it. The age-old sentiment that people have to be important to you to be able to affect you in some way is not entirely true.
We are, in the words of Erykah Badu, artists, and we're sensitive about our shit.
So, I'm working through my social media madness and getting some writing done while trying to work the regular job at the same time (thank the gods for work from home option). I think I will have a better day today than I did yesterday, because man, listen.
The struggle might be real this morning, but I don't expect it to linger on through the day.
